For starters wine cannot handle most Ms Office installations due to the platform on which they are built. Crossover works well though its a commercial product.<br><br>The other option is install virtualbox then install your favourite version of windows after which your Ms Office can be installed plus any other windows app you are hooked to.<br>

@Bernard, I know, but I am just stuck with Ms Office!! Office is one of those apps that u cant just let go easily (the addict u into an anti-change being). If at all I dump office, I prefer using Lotus notes.....OpenOffice doesn&#39;t do the magic that I do with office, fast and intuitive.....nevertheless, am working on it<div>

Greg,<br>When your start the laptop with the cd there is a section where it shows you the various partitions in your computer and how you want to install. Select advance and manually select the partion on which you want to install your Ubuntu. <br>

Hi fellow skunkers,<br>I have a big problem with my Ubuntu 10.04 which I installed yesterday (its running fine n perfect), on  a 49GB partition of my 160GB. My laptop HDD has 3 NTFS partitions I made with my W7. <br><br>











Problem is, I was installing packages this morning to update plug-ins n just downloading stuff. Midway, I was warned that I hv only 322MB of free space. My next download stopped when I got a rude shock from a pop-up window claiming I had 0bytes of free space. DiskAnalyser pops-up but offers little help. The df -h commnad shows I have used only 8.1% of the Filesystem &quot;/&quot; meaning I still got 45GB free on that drive. I hv rebooted n W7 works fine as well, the disk partition is 45GB free!<br>














<br>What could be the issue? Is it because the partition is NTFS? What could also be taking up space?
