I've observed that a good number of medium sized and large retail outlets are not very keen on embracing robust ERP solutions, simply because they are either too comfortable with the outdated systems they currently use or fear the drawbacks involved in migrating to a new system. I'm working on Ofbiz/Opentaps right now and with my experience in business systems(open source and commercial), this could be the next big thing for open source developers, it already is in the US.
