I have never actually monitored usage... but I remember a safcom
support person telling me that the unused data balance is brought
forward, once you buy a new package for the next month...

isnt that the case ?

No!

Once you buy a new package for the next month before the expiry of the previous month's bundle!
If your bundle expires today (with NN MB still remaining) and you buy a package tomorrow, you only have the new package. The NN from the previous bundle is gone down the drain... no, to Safaricom's Bank Account somewhere!!
