IMHO, a MacBookPro is way too cool for a bank manager, unless he is the IT Manager, it will probably push him into midlife crisis then he'll go out and buy a porsche :-)
Here's my reasoning; If whichever non-mac laptop he chooses costs more that 100k, he might as well get the Macbook white @ 105k. Below 100k, I would go with Ngatia's suggestion, but specifically the XPS<http://www.chekelea.com/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=531>series. Also, 2GB RAM should be minimum, if he gets 4GB, then he'll need the OS to be 64bit. But on second thoughts, I would push him to get MBP then sit back and watch with glee as his savvyness shoots thru the roof :-)
