Could someone then clarify for us which of these options (IOS or Android or Symbian or etc) would be the best to develop apps on, with financial $uccess in mind. Or does one create the app on one OS and then replicate the code to suit all the other major OS options? The other thing, can one really gain financial success writing apps? Timo. The marvel here for me is where these two sytems are coming from. iPhone OS, from the mighty Apple, sleek designs, runaway success, alleged immunity from viruses and malware etc etc, clearly the undisputed leader in the exclusive smartphone segment. Then look at Android, two yrs ago how many people would have given it a second look as a smartphone OS....first of all, open source ,who wants to try such unknowns in a cutthroat competition? But today Android is the bomb, so much so that even Nokia will soon be seeing the error of their ways and unleash an Android device in the not so distant future....those are my prophecies, just watch that space...

Well put Phillip, but sometimes the world looks at it differently, for example on the PC market, they compare Dell & HP and the likes and at the same time compare Windows, Linux & the likes. The only thing these comparisons don't actually do is compare Apple, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung & the likes since we know the agenda they are pushing - to tell you that they have beaten Apple since its the dorminant player right now.
