You can easily buy a .ke domain from http://eacdirectory.co.ke/

Integration with Google Apps means purchasing the required number of accounts from www.google.com/a and if you follow the directions there, you'll find it much easier. I don't do this often  but last time I checked it was a two-step thing:

1. Buying your domain and making sure the provider for this gives you Domain Name services and can configure them to what Google tells you from their page above.

2. Configuring your mail client or using the web UI Google gives.
