Hello skunks,
A client has asked me to set up a server for some specific tasks. My poison will be Debian, Postgres and a host of very un - steve jobs applications. (Including openbravo ERP). I seek from the experts here the demerits of saying.. ok, we can use one of your existing machines as the server (In this case a Mac OS desktop).
I know it is technically possible to run linux on these machines, is it foolish to try? or should i just stick to good ole HP servers...
Why complicate things when all those apps you want to run can also be run natively on a Mac? OS X is Unix, and a better one at that. I suppose if you'd like to run Linux, just get hardware for it, unless the Mac is a server and yu have little leeway.
