I suspect Apple has scored a home run with the iPad - It competes directly against netbooks & laptops as a device for internet access - It competed directly against multimedia players (iPods, Zunes, Creative, etc) - It competes directly against ebook readers (Kindle, Sony, etc) - It is a functional email client (over and above gmail, yahoo etc access) - It has (potentially) office software (presentation, word processing & spreadsheet). This makes it a killer machine for demos & working on the move - Pretty much idiot proof -- no configuration, console, etc. A button and it's on or off. - You can carry it to bed, use it lying down on the sofa, on the plane etc - It is integrated with an online store - There are millions of applications already available for it - Anyone can use it off the bat, from techies to the average housewife I personally intend to get one as a multimedia device & ebook reader. But i will wait for version 2 so adventurous folk can be guinea pigs and find all the issues On Thu, Jan 28, 2010 at 9:51 AM, Josiah Mugambi <jmugambi@gmail.com> wrote:

Don't think I'd have any use for one.
