I'll not engage on this thread on backup or alternative energy except keep track of KPLC failures. In my final closing on the subject of backup power I'd like you to ask youself one question: why is the cooker supply rated at over 30Amps? @aki, part of my daily bread comes from engaging clients in this very discussion. whenever doing an energy audit, you factor in peak power (which i suspect is what you are basing your design philosophy on). Designing systems based on peak power consumption is an unnecessary overkill. Very rarely will you need to power on all your guzzling electric equipment at the same time, unnecessary; impractical at the very least.
