Its not a question of scum, its a thing-to-do with profits. Safricom's
bulk SMSes retail at above KES 2.00 while 'other providers' can be as
cheap as 90 cents. So if safaricom cant get this business, they flex
their muscle since most are terminated at/on/thro their SMSC. I think
its more of a business angle than security or any other angle one may
look at it.
