However, to automate it I believe you would need to link into PayPal's IPN API. I think this is the easiest way to do things. I have a database whereby people are giving donations to a particular project.And the payment is being done via paypal.
Required:
An automated progress bar that picks up data from this database and if somebody pays up,its updates the progress bar.
