Correct me if am wrong, I know at least Ebay and StackOverflow (plus the rest of the Stack* network) run on the Windows infrastructure pretty successfully. Of course with Microsoft.com itself, ever since they stopped using a cluster of FreeBSD boxes to perform their names resolution .......
Just use the best tool for the job and life will be so smooth :D
