"...But PIN is not an ideal Primary Key. You need to be a tax payer..." Wrong. I am not yet a tax payer yet i got a PIN. the correct statement is that it is issued by the tax collector. As such A->B, B->C ; A does not imply C. Whois skunk works <skunkworks100@gmail.com> ???? On 09/07/2009, Philip Musyoki <pmusyoki@gmail.com> wrote:
But PIN is not an ideal Primary Key. You need to be a tax payer or to have been one sometime to have a PIN Number, and even then you will need your ID first to get the PIN. We should have a universal system, issued to all Kenyans of all ages, probably at birth. It should also have you DNA signature, finger print, iris scans and so on to make it difficult to forge.

transactions. In KE, there is no _primary key_ to identify someone.
If you have paid attention to whats happening the _primarykey_ in KE is PIN number.
If this has become the everything from Post-paid line, KPLC, Water, Bank Accounts, Car registration, Passport, Job applications and every other place you go its a requirement. I have quickly had to cram the number because i have to fill it in every now and then - ID is only being left to entry into buildings now :)
