This off-hooks add flavor to the list I got to say.Unlike other lists which have a specific line of support in their mailing list, I consider skunks to be a "General ICT List" and not distribution or package specific.That's why the talk here aint limited to kernel,kernel,kernel... My question is why should we continue to push down and sometimes refer the 'off-topics' to the bulletin board for such 'announcements' while at the same time most refuse to push skunks to take the forum / web format apart from just being a mailing list.Double standards might seem. As a suggestion why not start a list within skunks maybe ' skunksadverts@lists.my.co.ke' - same setup as with the security list and see how many people will subscribe to that.I'll be the first to subscribe for the record and I believe many more.Where else do I find such a good target and ICT savvy people especially in Kenya?Unless alternatives are given skunks moderation will remain irrelevant as our city council has remained u know...reduce number of parking and increase parking fees while they never address the main issues of roads, building plans and all. This was initially a reply to the server contribution post...decided to post it as a new post.
For those of you who know me physically, you probably know that I look nothing like a Mugo...so I keep trying to prove my Kikuyu side. I have a few arguments on this post...I would love to contribute, but I feel we need an organization structure for skunkworks. We need a website, we need founding members recognized, we need to take our role as the key players in the ICT industry in this country. We need organization that might earn us a place to speak on our rights as professionals and as freelancers. We need a team that will spearhead these operations, a voice that can represent us. A Board...
I think we have matured to that level. I know this just sparks politics, but I believe we need it at this point.
