Hi @James, look around you, who is going to develop a mailing list solution ( code wise ) . With whose money? In a "tano tano....bei ya mwananchi" quick buck economy, do you think people will develop or be far more interested in becoming brokers of such solutions? Even the best coders will look for a hosted solution somewhere and resell as a product, bottomline make that quick sale and pay off the day's expenses. That is why you find me complaining about the total mess the tech sector.
So lets say we were to create a mass mailer platform system, where is the incubator or the catalyst? ( please leave out the misguided propoganda about VCs, because no VC is going to invest or finance such ).
Having written the above, the budget for a presidental campaign is usually very large, and therefore part of it would have been used to invite incubators for the above system to be used in its campaign. Top slogan used : We build it in Kenya, we can do more in the future.
Asante. :-)
