Equitel should be giving out these things for free. Expecting people to pay Kshs. 600 to slowly save 5 bob per transaction to get it back is simply ridiculous. They should fire up a marketing engine and have ladies with booths signing guys up, and inserting the thin sim in their phones for free round every corner. Mobile money is a game of numbers, the more people with the ability to transact will make the platform more attractive to other people. Kshs. 600 to join? Ridiculous.
