I have been researching on the same for the past week. Check the following and chose
1. http://www.nuxeo.com/en/products/document-management
2. http://sourceforge.net/projects/openkm/?source=directory
3. http://sourceforge.net/projects/logicaldoc/?source=directory
Compare and contrast, they all have their advantages over the other but My pick would be Logical Doc because of its frontend standardized APIs.
Kind Regards.
