What account? If it's yahoo, I've seen an incident with a yahoo account and surprise surprise their email support assisted and sorted the issue after writing to them. There's normally an email address provided at the password reset page in case the reset procedure doesn't go through. If you have the right credentials to the account, try their email support For gmail, the alternative email has always worked.Never encountered a situation where everything just refuses to happen for Gmail though.
