2009/6/25 Philip Musyoki <pmusyoki@gmail.com>I have used the D-LINK outdoor series (2700AP and others) and they are pretty good and if you throw in an omni-directional antenna and mount the whole system it a central location outside, coverage can exceed 500 metres.
You can interconnect many of these as a bridge and increase the coverage that you want. They are also hardy, I have used one for more that 2 years without a single failure.
They a bit expensive though and the cheaper indoor ones do not perform well.
I am going to first consider 2700AP with omni antennae though I need to ask you about the antennae you are using. I have the following choice:
