Installation and configuration of Microsoft Exchange 2010 with the latest service pack.

 

·         Co-existence with the current Microsoft Exchange 2007 environment must be maintained at all times.

·         Exchange roles must be installed separately on each server (Client Access, Hub Transport, Mailbox, Edge Transport).

·         High Availability of each Exchange role must be maintained across the two data centers. Two servers of each role on each data center must be fully configured.

·         Outlook Web Access must be accessible at least from two servers.

·         Virtual servers of the same Exchange role must not be hosted on the same Blade.

·         Database Availability Group (DAG) must be configured on 4 Blades (2 on each data center) and replication across the data centers must not fail.

·         Threat Management Gateway must be used to publish Outlook Web Access address.

·         Current Outlook Web Access (OWA) must be maintained in the new environment.

·         OWA must be secured with an SSL certificate from Symantec Veri-Sign.

Installation and configuration of Microsoft SQL Server 2008.

 

·         Full SQL Cluster must be configured with at least one server in each data center.

It is assumed that the scope will only cater for the implementation of a new SQL Server instance and the relevant databases in support of the new products, and does not include implementing or migrating any of the existing or old databases to the SQL clusters.

Installation and configuration of Microsoft Systems Center 2007.

 

·         System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).

·         Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).

·         SQL Cluster must host the databases for SCOM and SCCM.

·         A new WSUS must be installed and configured as backend of SCCM.

It is assumed that during the design phase the exact scope and requirements of both SCCM and SCOM would be concluded that will determine the requirements definition and features that will be incorporated in the implementation. As such, the implementation scope should be regarded as an estimate, and will be adjusted based on the final design.

Installation and configuration of Rights Management Server

The scope and requirements of the Rights Management Services is not clear, and as such it is assumed that iO Consulting will only be responsible for the basic setup and configuration of the backend services.

 

DIT will be responsible for all backups of all data that will be affected by the RMS policies.

Migration of Mailboxes

 

·         Migration of mailboxes from current Exchange 2007 mailbox servers.

·         Uninstallation of legacy Exchange.

·         Decommissioning of old Active Directory Servers.

 

 

DIT will be responsible for all backups of all mailboxes and communication to users prior to the migration.

Installation and configuration of latest Symantec Backup Exec and Symantec Enterprise Vault to provide high-performance disk to disk to tape backup solution for Microsoft Exchange, SQL Servers and File Servers.

 

The Backup and Archiving solution should cater for automatic email and file archiving, it should be configured to meet all the regulatory and compliance factor.

 

·         Installation and configuration of relevant Symantec Backup agents (Deduplication, Exchange, SQL, AD, File Server).

 

 

It is assumed that all the required hardware, including servers, storage and tape devices are in place, correctly specified and configured.

 

It is assumed that the network infrastructure with sufficient bandwidth is in place for all backup, replication and archiving requirements.

Documentation

 

·         Detailed documentation showing all configurations carried out must be provided to DIT.
