Aha, so, if Mbugua recommended you to call Stefan Magdalinski and get the figures which may/may not  support his assertions, would that constitute substantiation?

@Peter, thank you for the corrections. :-)

I'll try and reply inline below. Am still awaiting @Njihia's claims to be substantiated. :-)

@aki, just noted an interesting paradox in your post...

You admonish Mbugua for not quoting factual sources on his assertion on dealfish, then you go ahead and make your own assertions and do not provide factual sources...

Mbugua: Dealfish has grown to be the leading classifieds service locally

Aki: Nation's daily circulation runs in the millions

Please give Nation marketing a call and you can have the numbers, if you are interested to advertise with them and want to know market penetration versus costs and targets.

Aki: gets the market you want

It does, no doubt about it. Traditional methods of awareness have not been exceeded by the web.

Aki: Online they have a very serious market segment.

Again, I request you to call Nation Online marketing to find out the rates. It is very interesting, each pixel of the Nation Media online site is worth millions.

Aki: Fact is the web and interest is not a mass tool or platform for Africa

WIll not go further into this as it remains something to be done in the near future.

Aki: For the Motor vehicle sales industry, www.cheki.co.ke I believe is doing a better job.

And I couldnt resist this one, :-)

For one, they are not claiming to be "leading anything" through marketing agents.

and what can be done to change the transformations.

From my limited english, isn't change the same as transformation?

Your English is correct, sorry my point got through very vaguely. :-)  I meant transformation from the point of view as a base standard already established. There are many things to be learnt from our many mistakes especially on the African Web but change is not one of them. Where the SMS is the established traffic generator, it gives an insight to our shortfalls on the web.
