Two colleagues of mine faced the same issue recently, and sadly there couldn't find a fix. I believe there is a reported problem with upgrade of 2011 MacBook Pros to Mountain Lion. Apple support forums should also shed some light. On Thu, Feb 21, 2013 at 4:31 PM, Mark Mwangi <mwangy@gmail.com> wrote:
Thanks guys,
Will look for time and go take it get replaced. In the meantime I did some gymnastics to get mountain lion running again on the disk. Have a partition with windows software and data that is more important and as far as I can tell the reallocated sector count is not going higher. So ill risk it till then. Data is backed up though.
