am doing "dark electricity" so the last person i can allow in my house is a "KPLC" guy. anyway, landlord has allowed me to do a separate earthing so no harm to anyone taking a shower just in case i was doing my HV (over 15000vac/vdc) experiments. a few blasts have happened but that's normal for capacitors to blow up.

Thanx, checking them out.

Hello @Gisho, incase the Prius cars show plenty of reliability,  your nearest hope is this :  http://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/?searchTerm=IGBT+transistor&sra=oss  . btw, when you get the shipment of these when you order them, they will come in anti-static cases. What you need to do then is get this too  http://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/?searchTerm=wrist+strap&sra=oss  so that they don't get damaged when you assemble the components. BEFORE USE ensure you get a proper certified electrician from KPLC who has done the earthing checks between the soldering station and your work area.

Rgds. :-)

I want to  build a solid state Tesla coil. yeah,  the spark gap is making my house smell like a welding workshop. i kinda think that now that prii (many prius) are around i can get high voltage IGBTs much easily.
