Washington, I intend to get the drivers, but they should be hosted on the linux so that once you navigate to the printer share from your windows, you can double click on it and it can get the windows driver and install it.

Ahoy Skunkers of both night and day..
I have a Linux print server running CUPS and samba where I want to connect windows clients. i.e. windows machines to print from this server. I do not want to install drivers on the windows machines as this beats the purpose of having a print server in the first place. I want them on the print server. The server is running FC8, the hosts are on XP and Win 7.
Anyone with an idea how I can share the windows drivers on the fc8 server?Windows is Windows, my friend, and it cannot print without drivers, whether real or emulated. From a layman's point of view, "drivers" are the glue between the logical (OS) layer and the physical (hardware) and so must be there, I believe.
