It happened to me too and a couple of my users. This is how I went around it:

These are the steps to follow , I had the same proble but this has worked.

   

1.       Click Start, type run and press Enter. (On Windows XP: Click Start and then Run.)

   

2.       Type the following and click OK.

   

%appdata%\skype

   

3.       Locate and delete the file shared.xml. 

Am told that Skype has been bought out by Microsoft. Maybe its a way for BG to tell guys.....you know what I am about to start monetizing this thing and your days for a free ride are numbered!!.
