@Mickey - spot on! I think that would be a very good idea! We would actually have less of 'where can I get...' and it could actually live to be a very good reference point for tech industry! ./Ok3ch On Tue, Jan 28, 2014 at 8:53 AM, Mickey Mickey <michaelakunga@gmail.com>wrote:
@While reading a thread (Looking for Bestell CEO) it came to my mind that if the Skunk website in my imagination looked like Mashable.com with Tabs at the top and trending topics scrolling somewhere on the home page. And the Tabs were like Reviews, Service providers, Gadgets, Networking, Programming ....' all these in my imagination will bring a new shape and open a new door to different people and will bring sanity (As well as Agony) to techie society. While am imagining, I believe there is cause to soil our boots on this road even if we do not know the end of it.

I think this is one of those projects where we actually need to think inside the box. The biggest reason why people (or rather I) 'tune in' to skunkworks is the actual emails. I thus suggest a simple site whose main content is generated from emails sent to Skunkworks mailing list. Technically this is a mole hill if we have access to the mail server code and files (I am sure the admins do). We would kill 2 birds with one stone; continuity since people will continue replying and creating emails as usual, and a SW website, where I could direct any new person to see what we are talking about now, in the past and future (for this point, has anyone of you tried to point to a non-skunks to get some info from skunkworks? The horror...)
Of course there will be a simplified About Us page, individual listers' profiles (some rules could be put for this), search fields, and the 'How it works' or 'DIY' pages, 'Kenyan Myth Busters Videos' etc...all these are scale-able.
My point is, we already have freely what most websites lack seriously...authentic, industry-coherent content. That should be the first resource we tap as-is.
