If you are yet to get the update, you can sideload if you have a Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and I think some Motorolas.

The above view is actually misinformed. Apps on the Android L look and feel really great, plus are snappy. Everything I have seen is quite distinct, from the dialer to WhatsApp to Twitter and Skype and the Settings. A very enjoyable experience in short.
