@Brainiac, the reason why I have to be strict, is coz as an independent contrator for a company thats big on intellectual property, Copyright Infringement and Plagiarism etc and they also reference us to their clients so some of us need to be very cautious about what appears on the net that links back to us. Many companies out there take this stuff very seriously and I think it time we as Kenyan entepreneurs/developers take this stuff very seriously too. Right now it may mean nothing but the day you come up with the next big thing, your competition will scour the net to link you to anything that suggests you stole it from them and they can shut you down. So little things like copy pasting someones code fragments or worse Mentioning a company name or brand makes you legally liable incase someone wants to press charges. Although it will be highly unlikely. Thats why Android is in a mess, Thats why Google is paying $500 Million for ads of fake pharma companies etc So for example Samsung should never offically use the word iPhone coz it can be used against them in a copyright infringment suite.... its all so messy, so thats why its a big deal ----- "[ Brainiac ]" <arebacollins@gmail.com> wrote:
Interesting one. Maybe we should start a discussion on what skunkworks content should be licensed as.

Is sunkworks content licensed as Creative Commons? This is Sic! You cant just start posting people's content on the web without their consent. I dont care who you are.
When I subscribed to this list I dont remember seeing terms that allowed my contributions to be published on the net. That site carries no terms, no references, no disclaimers.... nothing. Whoever this is should be handed a cease-and-desist email or something.

I remember seeing a thread somewhere where the owner of the mentioned website/domain pointed it out to someone on this mail list as a reference/archive, in full view and admitted to waiting for backlash. None was handed.
I strongly believe as long as your email is not published then there is no problem.
Plus besides the owner has not taken personal credit for the
content
rather is further spreading the content to other people who might not be subscribed to this mail list. Lets await the moderator response.

List moderators, is there a policy for this kind of thing?
