What does an Internet TV do??

If you have a TV, a Home Theatre, a Laptop/computer, then there are two things you do not need as a techie: an Internet TV and a tablet! They are cosmetic wants!! :-)

Why am I saying this? I recently acquired (I didn't buy!!) a Samsung Blue Ray/3D player which has WLAN/Ethernet capabilities.
I connected the gadget to my home WiFi and plugged it into one of the HDMI ports of the TV. I couldn't browse using the Remote and even accessing Apps via the web wasn't that interesting. Yes, they call these SMART devices, but Internet should always be left to where it belongs - not on the TV!
