Braniac,
Am not talking about Nairobi Mombasa Backhaul. My concern is the last mile fibre on KPLC poles. The one you can pull effortlessly. Please pay a visit to Lavington and other many estates and you will get what I mean.
my understanding is that the fiber in this scenario is on those pylons that span over 30 meters used for grid transmission. The ones that transmit 11KV...which is 11,000,000 volts. On Wed, Jun 16, 2010 at 4:53 PM, Moses Ngatia <mosez.ngatia@gmail.com> wrote:_______________________________________________Skunks,
Whats your take on overhead fibre in Kenya as compared to Underground/terrestrial.
My reason for asking is that, its (overhead) passing by my business premises, but the way its laid, I better stick to my Wimax with 99.3% uptime.
MAJOR CONCERN BEING: There is oil siphoning from life KPLC transformers, why can't any one cut and pull this fibre cables for over a kilometer stretch at night? AND PLEASE DONT TELL ME THAT THE FIBRE PLUS ALUMINUM PROTECTION HAS NO VALUE.
