I do not know any other sites or even whether it is possible to replace the D-Link Firmware with a third party one at the moment. If all you want now is increased coverage, I would recommend get one of those D-LINK high gain (anything above 10 dB) omni-directional antennas and you can boost the coverage by a large margin. Upgrade the firmware to v3.1 also and see if that makes any difference. You also get DHCP server facilities (if no there in the v2.00) just in case you need them.<br>

The official D-LINK firmware, both v2.00 and v3.1 do not allow changes to the transmit power of the equipment. Try DD-WRT at <a href="http://dd-wrt.com" target="_blank">http://dd-wrt.com</a> who develop third party firmware for many devices though not all of them are supported. I don&#39;t think the 2700AP is, but you can first try with other routers and access points and see how it works. New firmwares are constantly being added from time to time. Be careful not to brick your access point though.<br>

I have several Dlink 2700 AP access points running the default firmware (v2.00).<br><br>I have been previously advised that I can obtain firmware that makes the device operate at full power, thereby providing better coverage. I have been warned that this will reduce it&#39;s life, and that the current firmware locks it down so that it operates at &quot;recommended&quot; power output that does not affect its life greatly.<br>



<br>I would like to try out the &quot;cracked&quot; firmware on one of the devices and see it I will notice change in signal output power.<br><br>Where can I get such a firmware? or resources to crunk up the device at full throttle?<br>
