Hi all,

For those who are interested in improving their ability to develop for mobile phones, or have been interested in the EPROM program at University of Nairobi, this may be worth checking out.

Emobilis is a training facility starting this May focusing on empowering individuals with baseline and advanced skills required to thrive in mobile & wireless technology industry in East Africa. It is aimed squarely at students, developers, and those currently in the industry.

Emobilis will offer modules in a variety of focus areas:

* Mobile & wireless technology practice (basic & advanced)
* MIT/Nokia joint EPROM program - Mobile App development (curriculum developed by MIT professor Nathan Eagle)
* GSM for customer care executives

Pass by, speak to the tutors, register for a module (you don't have to register for an entire semester). It is a new training academy, and could use feedback from the developer community.  Also kindly circulate to friends / colleagues outside of this list who can likely take advantage of registering for the first round of admissions.

** In the interests of full disclosure, I should mention that I know the principals well, and I'm trying to support their growth; I believe their efforts are a validation of the emerging strength/opportunity of Nairobi as a "homebrew" software development hub.

Cheers,

Denis.
