- GOTV is a product from Multichoice Kenya (KBC and Multichoice from South Africa). It is running on DVB-T2.
- SMARTTV is a product of some netherland company although I have read somewhere that some influential people are trying to purchase it (don't know who and I also ask for verification) It is also based on DVB-T not sure if they are doing DVB-T1 or T2 better confirm before purchasing otherwise you shall be stuck with hardware that will be redundant.
- DIGITAL TV in context is the transmission of audio and video by digital signals and has a variety of standards DVB-T, DVB-H, DVB-S, ISDB, ATSC etc etc. Even DSTV is digital TV.
In KE right now, what is confusing many people right now at purchase is the specifics.
Currently there are either of the 3 products locally;
1. GOTV
2. SMART TV
3. Open DVB-T2 decoders, usually only allowing you to view signet
