Yes, John, it will be more polite, but is it practical? The bottomline is, no one here gets paid to answer questions here, which if they visited you are a consultant, will charge you to the last cent. I have sent several messages in this forum and never got replies - that doesn't make me less favoured, but only shows me that maybe no one had an answer, or folks were too busy to answer me. And this should never stop you from posting.

@Okechukwu..oh.I see..then wouldn't it sound more polite if one at least said something like..."Never tried"..or not sure..you know, just for the feedback instead of just keeping quiet...you get what I mean?...:)..the later suggests otherwise than the former....

@John, sorry but we answer questions when we feel we can answer them, not for the sake of replying.

I believe the question has been asked below .... (any ideas or responses ??)
####START
I have joined an Ubuntu work station to Active Directory using likewise-open.
Problem is, when the PC is switched off after some time, a local
user
not from the domain has to login and log out to allow domain users to login. If this is not done, no domain user can be authenticated. I am guessing it's because the likewise service only starts on login and on login means the local user has to login then log out.
How do I overcome this problem?
PS: Who has managed to join Ubuntu 10.1 to the Active directory using likewise open?
STOP#####
