Kenya power used to buy power from Kengen at Ksh. 1.45 and sell it at around Ksh. 7....
And at that time [sometime early last year and 2 years ago] Kenya power used to claim losses.
Now this does not make sense - Power in Kenya is one of those hottest services with ready buyers and ready demand - no need for marketing.
Infact - most of us practically beg Kenya power to 'vuruta' stima to our rural homes.
Are we forgetting "geothermal' power ? Its there in plenty in the deep pockets of the rift valley -- and Kenya Power promises us [biased] black outs in months to come...
Not forgetting the inefficiencies of the solar panels..... and those unreliable wind turbines that depend on the mood of air movement.
Interesting.
