Way back in the day just when Dstv came in, I heard KBC (formely VoK) used to take a cut of I think ~2,000/- off every monthly payment per subscriber, which was the explanation for how in SA the premium bundle was ~2,500, and in Kenya started of at ~ 5,000.

Though I'm by now a deal like that must have been thrown out.
