David thnx for your input, but if you understood my situation well the question is not about removing or autoremove, but undoing the changes made after removing, just like the way we do a roll-back after unwanted system upgrade.I feel it can be done but i am yet to discover how. From history I would suggest you do apt-get remove the packages you apt-get installed  then do an apt-get autoremove.
