[Skunkworks] Calling rates to go up??

Mr. Bob Collymore is telling us that calling rates are set to go up because *communication companies had been struggling to absorb the rising operation costs due to high inflation and a weak shilling, which made IMPORTS EXPENSIVE. *Can someone please tell me what IMPORTS are these he was referring to???
