Saidi, i dont think his patent was useless. And if it was, at least he got an idea that has now made the dude super rich. You can google his name for his stories that are all over the net.

I'd like to see patents for *real* inventions, perhaps a way to improve image-recognition algorithms so they can work well under very adverse conditions (like in a rainstorm, for example). Or a way to intelligently route traffic in a place like Nairobi, where traffic behaves more like a swarm.

But I suppose the whole idea of patents isn't to invent any more, but rather principally to make money by gaming the loophole-infested system.
