A. Check the log.
1. How many users are connecting to it? It could be reaching a connection limit.
2. The application code that accessed the server might not be closing already used connections, and more connections are requested before the abandoned connections time-out.
3. What OS is it running on? Non-server versions have a small network connection limit on the OS (not on the database).
