My theory, Zain shot themselves in the foot by attracting the wrath of safaricom. Their 100 million plus subscribers will be of no use to the kenyan market if they are making losses in this market. Unless their innovations have nothing to do with safaricom products, I see this ending only one way. Safaricom will ensure they bleed until they come back to the table and negotiate not to fight on price anymore. In the meantime, Safaricom are selling laptops to teachers and students with modems and continue to rake in much more from data and Mpesa than they did voice
Ok so safcom is giving a month only... antway enugoh time for us to acquire addtional handsets... coz as long as zain will be keeping that price might as well use that when the month is up :-D
