I dont know what other listers think but requesting a word from the CEO in any organisation is not as trivial as you put it, you should atleast try the CTO who you can organise and discuss in the presence of the CEO.

Barricaded CEOs vs Accessible CEOs! Some CEOs are very Accessible, and actually do end up taking up issues raised on mailing lists. I've seen Michael Joseph respond to issues on another list that I know of. And BTW, a lot of what is discussed on these lists actually end up on the CEO's desks when it touches on their biz.
