Hi all, Throwing a quick question out about package delivery by Posta. Anybody tried sending or receiving overseas packages with computer equipment via post office? Yeah I know that's a big risk as they're not that trustworthy but is it feasible? Would like to hear your experiences. I'm trying to see if I can avoid the parcel companies.
I used EMS to send some valuable stuff to a pal in Australia. Okay, not computer equipment as you wanted to know. When sending overseas, don't bother sealing the package as you have to declare the content and it has to be inspected at the EMS desks. How it is handled at the receiving end is not clear to me, but what I sent were gifts and I declared them as such. I was not able to track the package's movement online myself, but I was given an EMS phone number to call and they'd give me details on the movement. It took 4 days to arrive in Australia. I did not ask if it was delivered to the door, as was addressed, or if she had to visit "Posta" to collect. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ I can't hear you -- I'm using the scrambler.
