Surely it cant be that complicated. Its the way you buy units that's making you lose out. Look at this example. These are rough calculations just to illustrate the general idea

1. If you buy units in bulk say like 200 units you pay 19 per unit for 200 units....

Here you spend about 4000bob

or save by breaking it down at the cut off points like so

buy 50 units and pay 2bob per unit.
then buy another 50 units and pay 12 per unit.
then buy the last 100 units at 19 per unit

Here you spend 3600bob.

Notice in both cases you end up with 200 units so in general, separating you bill at the cut off points saves you money as opposed to buying in one chunk.

2. If you buy in bulk and it spans more than to months then, the next time you buy you will be deducted the 120 x No. of months missed before you are given your units.

The fluctuations from the diesel etc are small fluctuations that shouldn't cause you too loose too much sleep

People there are no arguments here just a lively discussion. Its never that serious. In my opinion the fluctuations affect every industry but the power industry seems to inflate the effect too much. I think a live calculator on the site to show how many units I expect for a given amount of money and a comprehensive breakdown would alleviate most of our woes.
