The mail is legit, I have seen many and I am sure guys in the ISPs have seen such. This is what an Acceptable Use Policy for your IP space is for. The ISP is not at fault, but the user using their IPs to distribute pirated content. Not sure how they find you but an easy way is to check who is seeding a file and get the IP info. I can think of some questions off head and will list them : Can the mail be legit, I'm still on the fence.... The ip ( masked ) is information obtained using what method, if the sentry is using mining or striping then itself in infringment. Does US laws allow hacking of hosted systems to obtain such info? Under what laws is the company allowed to eavesdrop, since piracy is not a national or international threat under their laws. It may only has proof of an IP and may have obtained data which I think under some laws would not be acceptable methods. I'm only writing this as a light-hearted joke: Find a good lawyer and sue them for infringement of privacy rights!
@Aki, They could simply be logging activities on their servers, which tells them everything they need, even the content that was infringed upon. So they may not be quite guilty of anything. -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "If you have nothing good to say about someone, just shut up!." -- Lucky Dube
