
Further to what Odhiambo has said, u'll probably get better performance, by a factor of a few seconds, if you bypass the DNS altogether by using the IP address of the MySQL database server. But then again, incase the IP address changes, that will be work for you. A small price to pay for a small increase in performance. It's highly probable that DNS failure is resulting into this - that your server is unable to resolve the name db795.1und1.de, or simply put, the host db795 has been taken off service, if it ever was there before.
