@ Martin; If you have read the references i pasted - the term 'God Particle' has dual meaning; apart from the meaning you infer.. It also infers to a particle that brings things into existence - which means if scientists have a supply of the Higgs; they can create particles from nothingness - is it not ?? The self confessed atheist as he appeared on CNN has no apologies for the name. This is the reason the Religious organizations are reacting to the news.
