You did actually setup IMAP4, which only downloads mail headers for display, but retrieves body only when you open (RETR) the mail, and only when you are online.
I am sorry, but my hunch is that you've lost all your e-mails if you really did delete the account.

Guys
I'm in a dilemma. I configured my outlook to download my gmail mails. It worked out well.....what i wanted basically is to get the emails, and delete the account but i did not want to lose my mails. It was ok, i deleted the account, then i realized that outlook would not display my mails....They have headers, like when it was sent, who sent it, the subject, but no body. What did i do wrong and how can i fix it??
