Good morning all,

I have an exciting opportunity for tech based interns who would like to be part of a big international tournament. From Tuesday April 21 to May 3 Kenya is hosting the IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy in Nairobi. (http://www.irb.com/jwrt/). This is the first international IRB tournament to be held in Africa apart from the Rugby World Cup in South Africa in 1995. In short, it is a big deal! Yes, even more high profile (internationally atleast) than the Safari Sevens.

The JWRT is an under 21 tournament featuring 7 countries + Kenya making up a total of 8 countries. There are four match days over the next 3 weeks, the tournament office is active from Friday throughout to May 3. The winner of this tournament is promoted to the under 21 world cup, so it is very competitive.

We have openings for four tech interns on the volunteers. These interns will be responsible for

basic computer support: for example, helping staff log on to the wireless internet network. helping with printing problems, scanning documents. general troubleshooting (eg/ my Outlook is not working etc).

While that may sound boring there is also a lot of cool tech stuff going on that you would be able to participate in (or at least observe) first hand. For example, the games will be broadcast live on KBC and Supersport, the images from the cameras will be carried using fibre from the match venues to KBC (much in the same way parliament is broadcast live without an OBU van). The games will also be streamed live – or as live on the internet so you would be able to take part in that set up etc etc.

The venue is: RFUEA grounds, Ngong Road (home of Kenya Harlequins – where Safari Sevens is played – next to Impala club)

You should be available during office hours between Monday the 20th of April and Monday the 4th of May. You do not have to be available every single day as we will work out a rota but atleast 3 days a week.

You MUST be available on the four match days which are Tuesday 21st April, Saturday 25th April, Wednesday April 29th, Sunday May 3rd

Unfortunately you will not receive any payment – but food will be provided for each day you work.

Any one interested or if you know anyone interested please get in touch with me on daudi.were@gmail.com as soon as possible highlighting any relevant experience/qualifications.

Thanks
