This last point is what am trying to say - "Internet Real Estate!". Its all about looking into the future. After 14 years of Internet experience, i can pretty much predict what my top 5 activities on the Internet will be in 5 - 10 years time. 1) Communication & Research (read Work) - Email, chat, social networking, wikipedia, vendor, stuff, etc. Its 90% of my time now and can predict its likely to keep growing. 2) Entertainment - Most likely my movies, tv etc will come from an online service. Movie tickets, etc. 3) Shopping - too many malls, too many shops am Kenyan, i like it cheap and not enough time to go shopping around for the cheapest deals. So 50% off and such stuff online will get my attention. For now i have to make do with "Gitonga" who is my long time contact and supposedly gets me good deals. 4) Govt - From paying taxes, Driver license renewals, etc list is endless. If they get it right this would be my number 2 or 3 and thats a high rank. 5) Maps and directions - i realised with all the new road constructions, new buildings coming up - i will need a map to locate places in the coming days. So as my dependence on the above will grow - right now only 1 above is 90% of my time. Then the need for that real-estate will only increase. Hosting externally will not be efficient. Regards, Michuki.
